need some helpfull opinions

hello to all shooters,

this is my first post on any internet firearms forum and have heard nothing but good things about this forum from my buddies. so heres the deal, prior to me PCSing to the firearm hating state of new york i had had an colt m4 “thanx to the influence of the army, nothing against colt guys its just iv had nothing but probs with mine on both of my deployments” and i had a DSA FAL. do to the fact that i heard nothing but bad news about new york and there assault rifle laws i sold both of them prior to moving. now that im getting out of the army and going to a gun friendly state im looking at purchasing a SBR M4 556 and 762. this is were im not sure what to do, im stuck between two good companies and two differant designs POF and Noveske/ piston or DI. both will end up being surpressed with surefire cans. iv seen what a pof piston upper/ colt lower can do in the sandbox and was impressed, but have heard mixed feelings about there complete rifles. Than on the other hand i carry a DI M4 and know its limitations, but it seems like from what iv read Noveske has it down with both there 556 and 762 platforms. as u can tell im torn between the to. i hope this doesnt start a battle here on the forum but would just like to hear what people have to say that own one of the two systems.

all opinions are needed thanx

Hi, Both POF and Noveske are top-notch manufacturers but I prefer Noveske myself. However; since you are going to be running a suppressor and SBR (lucky bastard) the piston setup is supposed to be superior. Good luck

Have you ever considered the HK416? I hear theyre reliable, plus the 10.5 looks great.

Welcome!

Addressing the .308, I would stay with a 16-18" DSA standard. The rifle will be more shootable. The Para’s are cool, but not as comfortable to shoot and the shorter barrel’s may give you some issues.

I would advise on a Noveski 16" middy for now if you are set on getting a Noveski.

Piston wise, I hope to have some pics of a newcomer’s piston upper which I will be taking delivery of next weekend. Maybe you should wait to see what it’s about. They will be available with 11.5 and 16".
