Need help with my glock

I bought this Glock 20c approx. 6 months ago used but never fired. Ive had about 5-600 rounds through it so far. According to my local gun shop the trigger feels 10x better than any other factory glock. Upon dissembly I noticed one tab not correctly in place.

Upon further inspection I noticed with the slide locked back the firing pin is sticking out, and wouldn’t recess until is was about 1/4" from being completely closed

And the firing stays recessed with the slide back

After resetting that tab, I can rack the slide, dry fire the gun and it stays in place until about the 7 or 8th time then it slides back out.

Im not a fan of accidental discharges, and I occassionally carry this one. (up until i discovered this) I’d like to get some help and try to fix this myself before paying someone else to do it.

I am pretty sure Glock firing pins are supposed to stay forward during slide travel (Now, it will only do this if you dry fire the gun before pulling the slide back).

As for the…tab…thing – I don’t really get what you are talking about.

The connector moves back and forth in the gun, that’s its job. The design of the Glocks striker is that it resets on the trigger bar as the slide is almost in battery. Been that way since 1983…

Both of those things are totally normal, it’s how the gun works.

That “tab” is supposed to move, man. Leave it be…it doesn’t like to be bothered.

When you decided to start moving things inside your Glock, what did you base this on? Because it didn’t “look” right to you?

To me it looked like it wasn’t supposed to be like the first picture because of other wear marks. It hasn’t changed how the gun functioned at all and seems to go back the the way of the first picture. If thats how its supposed to be thats awesome. I’m just trying to find out for sure before carrying/using it again and end up having a negligent discharge for assuming everything is ok when it looked out of place.

If the trigger bar did not do exactly as in the picture, pop out from
under the connector as in the picture, the trigger would not reset for
the next shot. If your trigger does not reset, then you will most likely
need to replace the connector.

All of that looks normal.

Congrats on getting one with an especially good trigger; they vary a bit gun to gun.

I noticed the same thing on my Glocks. What is happening: when you pull the slide back only 1/8 of an inch to drop the slide the bar will stay to the outside, but if you pull back too far on the slide to drop it (noticed by a click noise) the bar will be in middle position. I hope this makes sense.
