Need help picking 11.5 upper

Hey guys, howdy from Texas.

I’m in the market now for a 11.5 plain upper that i can later put a Troy tube on and trick out, etc.

It will be going on a Noveske Lower.

I’m looking for an idea of “the best for the least”.

Right now $$ is tight, so a 1500.00 upper is out of the question - hence a nice flat top upper that I can later customize.

Any choices that any of you have picked?

Bravo Company.

My 11.5" BCM is a good running gun.

i just got a couple of 11.5" d.d. lite wts 1/7
dont get any better
i have 6-7 colts on ar’s and just as good and colts not available anyway. i also have this same set up with a skinny colt in 16: with “can” connector. matched set. can take anywhere, in a blue “sneaky bag” and i am gtg

right now Marty Daniel is making some of the best gear in the business.

lite wt
looks
functions
aimpoint h-1
scout light
see a pattern here ???

good luck

+1. Mine has not had a single issue even on Full Auto.

Texas guy here too!!!

I’ve got a BCM 14.5" but i will always recommend BCM they are the best!

I’ve been tooling around with a 11.5" BCM/KAC URX build and I am loving it. +1 for BCM.

No personal experience with the BCM, but seems to be the best bang for the buck of all sizes/configurations. I’ll go that way with my next upper myself… from a fellow Texas man.

Ok,

Checking out BCM stuff now…

Is there a huge difference between the Hammered Forged Barreled upper, and the regular 11.5 (the price difference being 90.00)?

Also, somewhat intrigued by the lightweight config of the 11.5. Pluses or minuses on putting a LW barrel on a 11.5?

Thanks again for everyones answers. Have a great weekend.

bravo’s got 11.5s complete with charging handle and BCG for $520 right now… that cannot be passed up, if you’re in the market.

Absolutely! IMO the BCM stuff is the best out there AND it’s priced extremely well. You can spend more on other uppers (lowers, parts and complete gun) but you won’t get better quality or value.

Get an 11.5" BCM upper and enjoy.

The BCM uppers are nice, quality, and a good deal. However, if you want to, there are Colt 11.5" uppers out there. If interested, PM me and I’ll give the site where you can look at them. Not going public b/c there are only a few and I want one.

Pretty much all that needs to be said. Another vote for BCM.

Another for a BCM upper. I built this SBR earlier this year and put 5k rds through so far without a hiccup!

Another vote for BCM. You can even order it plain if you have your own rail you want to install.

I built my SBR using a BCM 11.5" barrel, M4 upper and the other necessities. It is very accurate and I can EASILY hit steel at 220 yds. using 55gr. ammo and iron sights.

If BCM is an option, BCM is THE answer. Especially at these prices.

BCM is an awesome upper and they are on sale for like $385! I have a hammer forged BCM waiting for the tax man to approve a BCM SBR Lower. I had the same question as you. Is it worth another$ 100? I was told the accuracy and life of the bbl would improve with a hammer forged bbl. The light weight uppers look sound great are they avalible yet? If your building now I would jump on a BCM upper and id add the BCM bolt carrier group like Gunz said. I think i paid$ 525 for my upper six months ago.

I’ve not shot the 11.5" yet but have fired my 16" and 14.5" mid length BCM uppers and they rock.

sweet, thanks everyone.

If it’s cheap, and exceptional, it’s probably BCM.

I have and will pick a KAC every day of the week, but damn if BCM doesn’t make a good product.

My sister built a 12.5’’ Kino upper with KAC FF RAS 7’’ and KAC suppressor, and it’s beautiful. After the NFA registration on her DD lower passes it’ll be sweet. (Only took 3 months for the suppressor to go through.)

We’ve shot it on my KAC lower and it’s amazing. BCM makes a great product.
No issues in SBR Suppressed configuration.

This would be route i would go !
