KAC MRE?
KevinB should be along any second to confirm or deny that…
Looks like a TROY to me. That big silver screw at the bottom of it is a give away, that’s how you remove the bottom rail.

Looks like a Gem-Tech HALO suppressor.
I’d say Troy also.
Thanks…
any idea how this troy rail stacks up to
Larue
KNIGHTS ARMS
A.R.M.S.
I wan t to free float the barrel and I currently have a Surefire Rail System…and I like the forward extension…and tips or ideas …BTW I want to spend about 350
here is what it will go on

Thanks again

Are you specifically ignoring Daniel Defense options or are you just not aware that they have at least 4 different options for rails that extend beyond a carbine front sight base?
Here is a $320 DD 9.5FSP:

Here is a $360 DD 12.0FSP:

Daniel Defense offers similar versions in the “Lite Rail” family, but they don’t comply with your $350 requirement.
I have never seen a “sight pocket” handguard being made by LaRue or ARMS.
I don’t think that the KAC MRE handguard is going to come-in under $350 either.
Great point I forgot to add Daniel defense…I had been looking @ the DD 9.5 FSP…
And you are correct about the A.R.M.S. and LaRue set up I can’t seem to find a sight pocket rail
So… It looks like I have to make a decision between the :
Troy. Two Piece?? How is the quality??
DD 9.5 FSP… one piece?? in the pic that I attached it looks like there is only 3 positions forward of the front site… and there is 6 positions forward on the DD of the front pocket on the pics that ar15barrels posted ?? and 6 forward in the Troy Pic ???
KAC MRE … all I can find on the KAC site is the MRE in “Long” ? Also one piece?
Is there ANY decrease in effectiveness of 2 piecefree float rail systems out there when you DONT have to remove front site/ gas system VS. a one piece free float that you do have to disassemble the front site/ gas system?
Any help is appreciated
TIA

That’s a MI rail. The Troy and KAC both have a rail all the way to the end, save for a little gap in the KAC under the gas block. KAC uses their barrel nut and threaded ring, not a clamp. MI is the only company that makes the extended one where the bottom rail ends in the normal spot carbine length rails do. $217 isn’t bad in comparison to DD or KAC…saves you around $150. They work.

I have decided to go with the DD 9.5 FSP. I will post pics when it is on.
