I don’t really know where to post this I’m somewhat new to forums… Does anyone know where I can get a Faxon Firearms 16 inch, 5.56, MID LENGTH GAS , NITRIDED, 1:7 or 1:8 barrel? Preferably mid weight to heavy weight profile (no pencil barrel) aimsurplus has them but has been out of stock for a long time. Ive searched armslist with no luck, even posted a WANT TO BUY AD on armslist… still no luck… and I can’t find one with a Google search (only found pencil or 18 inch barrels). Orrrrrrrr… if anyone has one in their personal collection…, and is willing to sell it? Or trade for something??? I don’t care if it’s slightly used… I’ve owned plenty of AR15’s over the years but this is my very first build from the ground up and I like the Faxon Firearms NITRIDED barrel (MrGunsngear sold me on it in one of his videos ). I’d go with a PSA nitrided barrel, but i get mixed answers as to weather it’s nitrided/melonited INSIDE the bore as well as outside… their descriptions are kind of vague about this and all products that are melonited just say “melonite finish”, i called PSA and asked because i got no response from the email i sent, and the man essentially said “he thinks so” … a week later PSA emailed me back finally and the response i got said “yes, melonited inside and out” however i saw a recent thread on m4c.net where a guy also emailed PSA with the same question and the answer he got was “no, only melonited on the outside of barrel”, which really doesn’t make much sense, they’d have to plug the muzzle, gas port, and chamber. So idk what the deal is with PSA. Anyway, thanks for taking the time to read this, and thanks in advance for any advice/info/help. Ughhhhhh!!! That’s sooo sexy!!! Especially the nitrided option, and the S2W profile is freakin awesome. But no, I hadn’t thought to check their barrels yet. The only thing with the DD barrel- $289 + $60 lopro gas block= way outta my price range. I mean, I definitely want something that will last a long time, so my 1st choice is the nitride, and 2nd choice CHF with chrome lined. However Id like to stay below around $200 … $220 max. Idk though, I could just save $$$ from my paychecks for a couple more weeks to afford that DD barrel… boy would that make me happy!!.. maybe I will… but in the mean time however, I’m definitely going to email that faxon guy.
