I need help with something. I have a Schrade extreme survival knife, model schf3. I love the knife, but the sheath (ACU pattern) that came with it is good in all areas except one: retention. the strap that retains it is a simple snap and that comes undone with even the simplest of movement. I am looking for a tactical grade kydex sheath, (one that retains the sheath without a strap preferably). Does anyone know of someone who makes sheaths like that?*
Here is the link for the knife and sheath that I have:
The sheath in that link also has a retaining strap…I was under the impression you wanted a Kydex one. There are many custom sheath makers, but 1st you need to decide the medium you want it designed from…leather, nylon, kydex
Another thing to consider is how you intend to wear the sheath. If on a belt how high you want it to ride and also attachment methods. That’s the nice thing about kydex, you can get molle or tek loks and screw them to the sheath. Most makers offer options
Wish I would of known Wahoo95 did kydex sheaths…woulda prefered to buy from a member of m4c. I ordered my kydex from On Scene Tactical. I got the operators setup that comes with 2 sheaths, tekloc belt and molle attachments.
Looks like what you are looking for OP is a kydex that is encased in nylon. Any particular reason you want the nylon portion? You will save weight, and less chance of moisture retention in the sheath with strictly kydex.
