Need advice on flash hider for AR10 .308

I recently built an Aero Precision AR10 with an 18 inch barrel and just threw a factory A2 birdcage on it temporarily just to get it shooting. I now am looking for a new flash hider to mitigate barell rise, and help with follow up shots, noise is not a concern to me. I also would like to shoot it prone off a bipod without taking a dirt shower. Thanks in advance.

A pure flash hider won’t assist much, if any in mitigating muzzle rise. A hybrid design will. As soon as you start getting into the recoil reduction side of things, concussion goes up, and so does the amount of dirt being displaced by the device. If your number one concern is barrel rise, there are a number of good options out there for that. If you want to retain some flash suppression, while still mitigating muzzle rise, look at the hybrid devices. You say noise is not a concern, but it’s important to factor in concussion tolerance (for you and your range neighbors) into to your decisions. Mitigating barrel rise comes at a cost. Brakes may make you shoot faster, but they won’t develop the skills needed to control recoil and shoot faster without mechanical assistance. If you really want to reduce the amount of dirt being kicked up, the only good answer is to get a suppressor.
