Need a BUIS...please help

I need to get a new BUIS for my 6920 and I have a few I am considering but there is so much ou there I am having a hard time figuring it out. Here is what I am looking at right now.

Matech

I have one but not so sure it is the best choice…love the ease of range adjustments

LMT

Closest one to the GI sights which I like.

Magpul

Just found out about these…slick!!! Plastic body though…inexpensive

Troy

Built like a tank I hear, expensive…

What say you?

Really, the first step is to decide if you want a fixed or folding rear sight, and then to decide if you have a need for long range use or simply as a back-up for immediate need use.

Well, I really don’t like glass but I think I better get on with the times and that’s why I am getting the aimpoint. I have no preference as to folding or fixed but the purpose is for backup in case of failure of the aimpoint. The scope will be the main aiming device for my weapon once installed. I do not expect to be shooting targets at long distances…this is for personal defense and recreational shooting at 300 yards or less, not High-power matches.

I voted other, I like the KAC Micro 200-600 m that is what I now have for both of my carbines. I prefer the smaller apeture for iron sights, and I like the ability to quickly adjust for various ranges.

Laure fixed buis if you are going to use an RDS.

If your going with an Aimpoint my vote is Magpul mbus.

for a non flip up style… I run those on both my shorties… got a good deal on a couple of Matech’s but i didn’t care for them once i received them so they sit in my parts box… I have a ARMS 40L on my M-Forgery… The only thing i don’t like about it is when you flip it up the small aperture is showing… Not a big fan of optics so for me it’s the LMT

I have the Troy on my 6920 and love it. Like you said, it’s built like tank. I prefer the folding style to keep a low profile when it’s not needed.

The Daniel Defense fixed A1.5 BUIS is also a great choice if you do not need fold-down capability.

+1 The Larue fixed is great. (lower 1/3 cowitness with my Aimpoint)

depends if you want cowitnessing with an red dot or holographic or not. Some people dont mind. I personally dont like cowitnessing, too busy of a sight picture

If you do go with Magpul MBUS, Gen 2 MBUS sights are coming out soon so might want to wait for those.

I thought I was pretty clear about my needs but here it goes again. I need my 6920 mostly for recreational shooting and for personal defense in the unlikely event of natural or “man-made disasters”. I want to keep it as simple as possible but I also need quality. Though it is unlikely it will ever be used in anger I would like to be able to use it if needed with no concerns about whether it will work or not.

Pardon my ignorance but wht is RDS?

I do not think I want to co-witness…it’s either one or the other…I need to keep things simple.
