Need 6920 pricing help.

Was planning on picking up a lower or two and this rifle presented itself. I will have to sell some parts but am interested for collector value.

Specs:
Colt 6920 buyer has paperwork but no box. Has restricted LE verbiage on lower. Private sale. No paperwork.

All factory furniture included
Slide fire stock installed (have to sell)
UTG pro hand guard installed (have to sell)
400 rounds 5.56 brass 55gr ammo
3 Pmags 1 USG mag
He is asking 1700.

After selling the other gimmicky junk I can’t use, thoughts?

The price is too high, especially when you can get them for under $1100 new.

It’s a lot of money you have to make up selling off the stuff you don’t want to even get close to what I would call ‘worth it.’ Personally, unless I am WAY off base here, I wouldn’t look at the ‘collectible’ value. I just don’t see the point. I can see how people could make it collectible by hoarding them and such, but if it is like any other ‘collectible,’ not having the box negates a lot of that ‘extra value.’ My opinion? Pass.

(I’ve got one, I shoot the p!$$ out of it, that’s what it’s for. And I still have the box, coincidentally. I just looked in my closet and there it is. )

The add on stuff is just about worthless. If its decent ammo its worth $150 or so and around $40 for the mags if new. Grant (G&R Tactical) sells the 6920 for $1050.

So yeah that’s a little steep.

Maybe tell the guy to keep the stock and rail. In the current scare he should be able to sell that stuff pretty quick.

to give you an idea, i just got my 6920 w/moe package for $1185 out the door

There’s no collector value in a 6920. I just got a6920 with 10 pmags shipped for 1070 after transfer I was at 1090 total. Dsg or gt dist always has them for under 1k.

A simple Google search and search on this board would have provided plenty of 6920 info.

Thanks for the tips. I realize the retail price of the 6920 and that they are available through several establishments for less.

I was just trying to gauge the value of the LE only engraving and purchasing in private sale.

The way things are going, I am trying to keep my name off as much gov’t paperwork as possible.

Google does provide endless threads on the 6920. I didn’t feel these 2 things had been covered.

FWIW, I do plan to shoot the piss out of it. It will be my 3rd AR.

There’s an assclown on a local board I frequent selling a bnib 6920 with the “collectible” L.E. engraving for $2,000.
Just in case someone wants to jump on it:

Ugh. I’m not trying to play the collectibility game. Thought it might be a bonus.

I found a 6920 Sporter local for under a grand. I may just do that.

The sporter for under a grand is a good deal, especially if it’s new.

Wal-Mart?

i agree with all of the above. i personally haven’t seen anyone clamoring for the le only engraving. didn’t all of them engraved with it have the larger pins anyway? some people don’t care, but it’s a detractor for me since i’m a big fan of the modularity.

Mine has the LE engraving and small/normal pins, lot date on the plastic wrap and bags shows 07/09. I can swap both the upper and lower with my BCM, Rainier, and SAA uppers and lowers.

$1700 is way to high IMO.

Tell him you’ll give him 800 with utg handguard and slidefire stock and 850 without that stupid shit.

1k tops. Assuming it has low round count. Really the only desirable “extras” I see in that deal is the ammo and mags. I would offer 900 if it is in good shape. Sell the slidefire and rail to recoup some money. Fyi, I just bought a LE6920 MOE for $1100 OTD.

Slidefire stock and low round count probably don’t do together, just sayin…

There isn’t anything collectable about the LE rollmark. I bought mine in July with Magpul OD package for 1050. The serial number starts off with LE and has the M4 Carbine roll mark. I can’t remember where I saw it but I thought Colt was saying they are soing away with the sporter roll mark and serial numbers begining with SP. They said it was to ease production and that people didn’t want the Sporter roll mark as much as the M4 rollmark.

added text: I also have a roll mark stating it was made by Colt Defense not Colt Manufacturing.

He’s talking about the earlier models, I believe. On the mag release button side, it has the ‘restricted military/government law enforcement/export use only’ markings.
