NEA CCS Buttstock SBR Piston Driven

So here is my LEGAL sbr with the NEA stock. Now NEA clearly pit on their website that it will not work with a piston AR. The gas key on the NEA carrier is mil spec from the hammer slot forward. So all I did was unsteady the factory key. Installed one of the Adams Arms piston keys and BAM!!! Piston compatible. It was within .002 of my factory adams carrier.

my only gripe that the NEA parts dull and do not match the Mil Spec coating. Ill have them Cerakoted in the future.

How’s the cheek weld with that stock? Any particular reason you went with it?

Well I wanted the shortest sbr that I could. Originally I wanted a sbr hk94 or mp5 and it was cheaper to build a sbr ar. Any ways I only fired test rounds to make sure the piston worked. After some actual use ill report back. But I know its a 7" barrel so about 100 yards is max and its not a precision ar. But it does look cool non the less.

Nicely done.

I’m overseas right now, but one of those stocks is sitting at home waiting for me… I also picked up a LWRC compact stock, so I’ll be able to run them side by side. I’ve been looking for a ridiculously short 300 barrel (6.5 or 7 inches), but haven’t found one, so I picked up a 7 inch 5.56 barrel to hold me over. It’ll probably end up looking just like yours. No pistons for me, though.

Im liking the piston in this one but all of my other AR’s are still gas. I am still a fan of the gas after my time in the Army. Never failed me there. And if a tube become clogged all just replace it for 10 bucks. But ill bet ill shoot out the barrel before that happens

I have been looking at the NEA stock as well. Did you buy it direct from theammsource.com? If so, did you have any issues getting it from out of the country as far as import regulations, taxes, etc.?

I got it direct from the ammo source yes. They took for ever to ship it but once it shipped it was fast. But the customs fee is about 46 bucks.
