What is everybody’s opinion on this large sized Facog? I picked one up today (traded straight across for my HiPoint carbine)

Well, the good news is you dont have a Hi-Point carbine anymore. The bad news is you now have an NC-Star optic.
No worries, mate. Just put it on a rimfire ![]()

+1
Hey now! The Hi Point was the single funnest weapon Ive owned!
Dead accurate, wether it be 20ft or 100yds…
Well he got the better end of the deal. Go on Ebay and check the prices. All but the higher power ones are under $100.
This one has adjustable zoom from 3x to 9x…they were asking $120 for it…
Have you played with it much? I picked one up in a local shop a couple of weekends ago and they look pretty nice.
For a variable power scope, the size and weight were real nice. I didn’t ask to take it outside to get a better look through the glass. Looking through the tinted windows out into the parking lot, the glass actually looked pretty good. Details looked good when reading plates.
Does anyone know of a more mainstream manufacturer making something similar? This is the type of optic I would love to have when running the heavy barrel on my XCR. Right now I have a Burris 4.5 x 14 Tactical scope for it and it is just too big and bulky for the gun, although it shoots well.
So here are some quick thoughts about it…
Im sitting here staring through it out my window at my neighbor’s truck in the darkness.
But! The lights cannot be seen from the front end of the scope, just the rear…+1 for that.
I wont be able to shoot it for a few weeks, so I’ll update this thread when that happens…
Sell it to a local airsoft kid… he will be happy and you will have your money back. ![]()
The cheapest I would go on any optic would be $200 or so. (+ $100 mount)
Leupold makes a scope that you may like if your looking for a telescopic type optic. The Rifleman comes in under $200; just add rings/mount.

I’ve got a Burris XTS-135 mounted with and American Defense AD-68H.

.
On your AR it should be fine if it will hold zero which seems to be the biggest complaint. I’ve read about a dozen reviews and it seems to be hit or miss with these. NcStar took over the old Tasco plants in China and are making these with the old Tasco plants machines. All you can do now is shoot it and see what it does. I hope it works well for you.
thanks for the no-BS assessment…I’ll give it a try probably next month…
my one experience with NcStar scopes was a very nice looking 1.5x6.5x 30mm with the euro post that i picked up for a nice discount.
unfortunately it wasn’t worth a hoot, foggy-fuzzy optics-magnification wasn’t right–would only focus on 6x—wouldn’t hold zero on a 22LR.
the dealer i bought it from let me trade it in for a burris 3x9 so i wasn’t left holding the bag on it.
supposedly NcStar has improved since then–but i don’t walk away from a good deal on NcSTAR–i RUN!!
I would have much rather had the Hi-point.
