I currently have a DDm4v5 in 5.56, I’ve shot 400 flawless rnds through it. I usually shoot handguns more, but, want to gain experience with rifles too.
I’m leaning towards a 300 blackout for my next rifle, I’ve done some research on the DD and AAC.
From what I’ve read online AAC changed their twist rate recently from 1 in 8 to 1 in 7 to better stabalize heavier subsonic ammo, correct??
The AAC has more value to dollar, but, DD has built their company specializing on AR builds and top tier quality
My local store has a AAC in the older 1 in 8 twist and the DD in stock, the gun salesman knew nothing of the change in twist so please correct me if I’m wrong. Any feedback from users of these would be awesome!
My 9" AAC barrel works exactly like I want it, given I only shoot subs and subsonic suppressed. What are you wanting? Mine is for hunting. Let me know what you expect from it, and I might be able to help you.
Thank you for the reply, what twist rate is your barrel? In terms of my use I will mostly be hunting targets of paper and metal out maybe 200yrds. I’m also looking at the 16" barrel model currently.
I’m getting it to shoot suppressed roughly 70% and use a lighter bullet 30% of the time(non suppressed) I may benefit from the 1 in 8 twist.
