So I’ve spent quite a bit of time tonight looking at the various SD rounds available for my AR. I’m not going to pay 25 bucks for a box of 20. I’m going to pay ~$15 for 20 rounds. I plan on purchasing about 200 barrier blind rounds so I’ll save myself $100 and put it towards training. This DOES limit my choices though, so I’m looking at mk318 and Federal Fusion 62gr.
From what I’ve read, I should have no problem whatsoever with the mouth not being sealed on the Fusion, correct? These bullets will be loaded into a few magazines and left either in a drawer or in my closet, and could be there for a few years. They could be used during the winter wandering through the woods in northern MN as well. Basically, I am just making sure moisture and oil won’t affect the Fusion round with only a sealed primer. From what I’ve read (only found a couple threads) I should not have a problem.
I would prefer the Fusion over the mk318, as it seems to be held in higher regards by Dr. Roberts.
Thanks in advance!
