Budget is up to $2k.
Will be used the same as my 6920: home defense, SHTF, training, etc.
Brands: Colt, Noveske, LMT, or BCM upper with LMT lower.
Any advice on what you’d take in this price range?
If I go with a Colt I was thinking a 6933. I know who Noveske is, just not much else about specific models. LMT will be a 16" or 10.5", same as BCM unless I decide to with a mid-length.
Any advice in which way to steer I’d appreciate it. ![]()
A lot will depend on how fast you want/need it.
You’ve already got one Colt, why not a second one? I’m in the process of getting a 6933 myself, so that would get a vote from me. But I’m also waiting on a LMT SRB MRP 12" piston gun, so that would also get a thumbs up.
Nothing at all wrong with a Noveske, except availability right now.
LMT lower with a BCM upper has the same problem, albeit a slightly easier proposition.
I’m sure you could find either one of the above, but probably at a premium.
Even without the said supply problems, I’d still go with either a Colt 6933 or LMT 10.5. Don’t forget to factor into your budget transfer fees, both dealer and NFA.
No timeline to purchase. Just whenever I make up my mind or they become available, if backordering something secures a current price it will be worth it to me since there’s no rush to me getting it. I know there will be added costs on Class III stuff, that sucks, but I think it will be worth it to have a SBR. The 6933 will be my best bet on availability there.
SBR makes sense, after $200 on the stamp, the $1800 left over will buy a lot of weapon.
Don’t forget what the C3 dealer charges for handling the paperwork/transfer. Mine is pretty reasonable at $50. All I have to do is chase the fingerprint cards and local background check. Still, at $1750+/- you can get a Colt 6933, magazines and ammunition. Nothing wrong with that.
Any other opinions?
