My new 7.5" pistol

My newest Pistol Build
Rainier Ultra Match 5.56 7.5" Stainless Barrel $275
Rainier Low Pro Stainless gas block $48
BCM M4 upper reciever $94
BCM FA Bolt/Carrier $140
Levang Comp $25
Spikes Pistol Lower $180
RRA Standard FCG $65
A.R.M.S. #40 Rear Sight $120
MI Flip Up Front Sight. $99
H2 buffer $35
MI 2 Piece Free Float $160
TLR2 Light/Laser $290

Keep in mind, these are new prices. I.ve had some of the parts for a couple years.
Didn’t realize I had that much in it.

I got it to the range today.
I don’t know how Rainier does it with such a small gast port (.056) but it ran great. Unsuppressed, suppressed, XM193, and Wolf believe it or not. I for some odd reason, got better grouping with Wolf than the XM193.
When I was on, it shot 1" groups at 50 yards with a 4X cheap scope.
I had 3 double feeds. But I’m pretty sure they were mag related. I was using an old 20 round mag. When I used the P-Mag, it ran fine.
I’m more than satisfied.

nice blaster !

$1,531 based on your price list. not bad!

Not really. Some of the parts, like the MI rail and Spikes lower, sights and TLR2, I already had. Just needed a home.

I like it! I never add up the costs - I just look at the results and declare it a bargain.

I’ve got to find a different sling mount. I damn near ripped my finger off charging it like I would my 10.5 with Badger latch. Ouch.

as a reccomendation I’d go w/ a Noveske QD end plate on that platform.

No interferance.

Thanks, that is the one I was looking at. Is there any fitting issues?
Dave

Nope.

Make sure you stake the receiver endplate w/ a prick punch or equiv. to flow/swedge metal into the cutouts that are on the castle nut.

Although a commonly used term in the industry is often called “staking the castle nut”.

same. people will ask me how much i have invested in a particular stick from time to time… i never know. i’d rather not.

nice pistol, OP… you obviously know what goes into a good gun. you have plans on SBRing it eventually?

How do people shoot AR pistols?

Do they use the buffer tube as a substitute stock or shoot them pushed out with sling tension old school SAS mp-5 style?

Just curious.

Thanks. I already have a couple SBR lowers. It’s posted in the NFA/SBR picture thread with and without the suppressor. I keep one pistol lower in case I want to cross over into Kentucky with it. No paper work needed.
I use both methods to shoot. I can put the buffer tube against my shoulder and get nose to charging handle. It’s a little short but doe-able. You can also use the tight sling method with buffer tube against the cheek. I prefer the shoulder.
Dave

would a modified A1 RE do anything for you?

I’m sorry, you lost me.

a rifle receiver extension with the screw hole plugged, so it’s legal for pistol use. it’d give you an extra couplefew inches

Thanks, I understand now. And yes it would.

Snazzy! I couldn’t decide if I wanted to go 7.5" with mine or not. I decided 11.5" only because I plan to go SBR someday.

Don’t worry about the price. If there is one thing I learned building my AR, it’s that you don’t save any money at all; you get to customize your platform with the components of your choice. It looks like you’ve done that and used very good components. Glad to hear there are no serious hiccups. Enjoy!

Thanks. I already have a couple SBR lowers and a 10.5 and 11.5 uppers. I really wanted something short to use my .22 conversion in and figured why not just build a 7.5" 5.56 so it has two functions.
I keep it on a pistol lower most of the time. But it’s a lot of fun on the SBR lower with or without the .22 and can.
I even ran it with 5.56 and my .308 can with no problems. Tones it down quite a bit.
Dave

Cool lil blaster. Im going to have to build me one of these…

Yup they all add up. I’m pricing out a pistol build as well, and the sticker shock is kind of keeping me back from pulling the trigger :frowning:
