My new 2009 (AK) USP came with 10rd mags - normal?

Hey guys,

Just got back from my dealer with my new H&K USP 9F in Stainless. I purchased the gun online (from shootersjax.com) and had it shipped to my FFL. Everything seems to be in order, except that the dealer pointed out that I had 10rd mags, while every USP that he was selling (some earlier than 2009) came with 15rd mags. At first I thought the selling dealer did a mag swap on me, but then I read the tag on the side of the case and it clearly says “USP 9mm Stainless with 2 10-round magazines.”

Are they still shipping new USPs with 10-rounders?

Thanks in advance!

when i ordered my 2009 usp 9c back in august last year it came with full capacity mags. Possibly the gun was meant to be sold in low cap. states?

I bought a USPc and it came with one of each.

I just spoke with both Shooters and with H&K. Shooters didn’t differentiate between which mag it shipped with, they simply said “New Production.” That being said, all new production guns should have 15rd mags (H&K confirmed this, read further). I called Shooters on this and the guy I spoke to said that all of the German-manufactured (DE marked) stainless slides shipped with 10rd mags. Otherwise, all US guns ship with hi-cap mags (unless you live in a ban state). I then called H&K to get their side of the story. He said that all of the DE manufactured guns from the batch mine was in shipped with 10rd mags, although they should have been (as in usually are) shipped with hi-caps (he said they only had 10rd mags available at the time in Germany).

He offered to replace my 10rd’ers with hi-caps!

This is awesome on two levels. One, because despite all of the bad reports I’ve heard of H&K CS, this is awesome, and two, because my dealer was getting rid of all of their 10rd mags for $12 (which I bought two of). So basically I’ll have my two 10rd’ers replaced with hi-caps and I’ll still have an additional two 10rd’ers should I need them.

My USPc .40 Stainless shipped with two 10-round mags as well, back in May 2009. It is also an AK production.

Bought my USPc SS 40 in March from CDNN. I asked Cody if it came with the 12 round and finger rest. He said it did. AK date code. Plus I’ve bought 3 more 12 rounders.
