We need to stop resisting and just accept that not until all firearms are banned and relinquished - all of them - we simply are at fault for any and all acts of firearms related violence and crime, including but not limited to crimes committed by gangbangers, crackheads, socially maladjusted scum, juvenile delinquents, mental patients, sociopaths and other human wastes of space.
The solution to all such evil lies not in most commons sense intelligent preventive solutions proposed here ad infinitum, but in the immediate and total riddance of all fire-arms in private citizens’ possession.
The creation of said un-armed society will most certainly bring on that panacea in which the good government has rooted out all evil and protects us from all things bad and harmful.
They will be there, watching over us at all times, ensuring nothing bad will happen to us, ever again.
A safe society. A blissful society.
Sort of like many countries in Europe where ALL the criminals have guns, lots of them, the citizens have little or no right whatsoever to defend themselves - if they do a jail-term will await them in many cases, and much of law-enforcement is so restricted in their actions (by choice or by law) that hooliganism and random violence reign.
(Why media is pretty much mute on this one is somewhat puzzling…)
Oh, and by the way, this funky 2nd amendment thing, that outdated piece of civil right was written sooo very very long ago, it really is due for some overhaul and re-interpretation, as are all those other silly oldfashioned ones, like freedom of speech… i mean, with the internet, really, could the founding fathers have said anything with that in mind?
For that matter while at it, surely we can plug some leaky holes in that outdated old-fashioned rag we call the constitution.
