My Mk12 Mod 1ish Build

The Mk12 is one of my favorite military rifles, so naturally I had to build one (similar to one). I really would like to build one to spec, but it’s very expensive, and some of the parts are just about impossible to get. It’s been a really fun rifle to shoot so far, but I haven’t really had much range time with it (zero range time with match grade ammo). Still need the Ops Inc 12th model suppressor (Allen Engineering AEM5).

Very nice nicholas306! I really like the SPR MK12 also, mine is built from a DPMS stripped upper & lower with the rest being Daniel Defense including the furniture.

Looks great I really like the mk 12 platform too, would love to build a reproduction of one.

What kind of scope did you use?

Thank you. The scope that’s currently on it is just a cheapo Bushnell 10x for now.

Very nice SPR! Quick question in regards to your WOA barrel and accuracy…I am running their 20" 1:7 varmint on a build I did last year and having some issues dialing in consistent groups past 200 yards. After months of research and testing, I have come to the conclusion that WOA are notoriously picky in regards to ballistics and various bullet weights. So far, the best groups (sub .500 MOA) have come with 75 grain match stuff from Hornady. What are your thoughts?

Keep your eyes peeled, the FF RAS is still being produced. Don’t pay over MSRP for one, Operations Parts, HCS, BCM, and others usually get stocks of them, even Brownells. Your build is worth getting the KAC rail. Then you can get a Ballistic Advantage 16" Premium barrels for like 150 and have an awesome Recce with your LaRue rail that can also use your AEM5.

They just put out a batch about a month ago. They went pretty quickly, some stores allow you to put them on back order. It’s a shame some people seem to buy them just to try and flip them for twice the price.

That’s why it is good to be informed. More are coming, and if people understand this it will be harder for the scammers to get a bite. Now, MRE rails are a whole other matter. I could see those commanding a serious price whenever they appear on EE/sales boards.
