I picked this one up at my local gun shop. It’s a police trade in and while it has some cosmetic blemishes, I don’t think I did too bad for $700.
My only areas of concern are whether I should bring the internals up to current standards (i.e. full auto bold carrier and fully boxed semi-auto trigger.)
At least I know the BC is Colt.

Yes, it will. According to the photo - his lower has the webbing, not the hardened block.
I am not terribly familiar with that model, that’s why I asked. You never know with some of the shenanigans that Colt has put out in the past.

That’s a good score. It’s spotless on the inside of the lower… so I’d guess it hasn’t been shot much at all.
These kind of buys beat the hell out of a gun that looks prestine, but has been mag dumped and bumpfired silly by some idiot fuck.
That is not the factory bolt carrier group to that rifle.
That gun came with a M16 BCG from the factory.
Switch it out with a Colt FA BCG.
What you see is what I got, how I got it. The bolt carrier is bone dry. I’ve been thinking of getting a FA bolt carrier as well as maybe even an A3 upper from BCM and a DD rail, the one that extends around and past the front sight base. Then again I have an A.R.M.S. S.I.R rail that mounts to the A2. (Yeah, I know, not much love for A.R.M.S. around here. :rolleyes:) I only bought it because another member posted a pic of his SBR with one and I just love the way it looked.
I’ll shoot it first before I do any mods to it, I promise!

My 6520 also has the unshrouded half-moon BCG. Factory.
markm, chill! I haven’t done anything yet! And if I do anything, it likely won’t be permanent, or better put, to the extreme of having to use a wrench on it. At least with the ARMS rail, it’s not permanent and I may not like the looks of it. Other mods I’d likely do are Magpul trigger guard, grip, and BAD lever. Also, I have a Vltor stock that may go on…at least until I decide to do a second build.
I kinda wish they had a second one so I could modify one and keep the other stock. (I know rob_s has been there, done that.) There’s just so many possibilities! :jester: God, I hate the AR picture thread! :sad:
Putting a flat top upper on that baby would be a friggin crime. Might as well shave the FSB and put a tardlong rail on it.
