Not my first AR, but my first actual build from the ground up.

Was building this as primarily a fun shooter and for home defense rifle.

Nice build. And LMT LPK? Where did you find this?

G&R Tactical. I purchased the one with the ALG QMS trigger. Very nice and clean break, VERY nice parts kit.

I have the same flashlight. It will probably give you problems being weapon mounted. If shaken it cycles through modes.

I haven’t had a problem yet. It had served well on my last rifle.

That’s the light I carry, 180 lumens of tight white light, all in a slim body, easy to carry, hardly even know its in your pocket. I want to put it on my colt, but wasn’t sure which Vltor mount would fit. I assumed the SME mount, but the barrel diameter specs (Vltor) and Streamlight specs were off a bit. Now I see that it fits, I’m picking that mount up tomorrow.

I actually had to put a thin price of rubber in the mount for it to tighten up the way I wanted it to. But it won’t budge now.

The only thing that makes me nervous is that Buffer. For a house gun, I’d personally run a real buffer… well for any gun, but especially a house gun.

I’ve had mine for a few years now, it is a little beat up from being in my pocket. It worked perfectly until recently. It seems the battery contact spring on the tailcap is getting weaker and sometimes if shaken it will cycle through to strobe then low. I’ve also heard of people putting an o-ring over the spring to give more support to the battery.

Not too bad man. Did the Redi-Mag come with the slip over piece that enlarges the contact area of the bolt release? That’s a little bitty button to hit with the Redi-Mag right in front of it.

I tried the B.A.D lever, but didn’t care for it in conjunction with the RediMag. So I left it off.

That and I was under the impression that the RediMag was to release both mags when the mag release is hit. It doesn’t, and I’m not really upset with that, cause I’m preferring it being released separately. Kinda like a RediMod. Is the fact that my RediMag is a gen II have anything to do with it?

I goofed up on another thread with this but the later model has the separate mag release which is better in my opinion. The standard model does not. As far as answering the question about Gen 2 I am assuming your statement is true. Brownells does not list it as generational differences and BP’s website doesn’t even have the original model on their site. It just has the new aluminum version and 2 variants w/the seperate mag release. The MK1 and the MK1 quick attach.
