my first stripped lower

I just picked up my first stripped lower. I found a decent deal on a Spikes tactile lower. So no the journey begins to acquire the rest of the parts.

previously, I had acquired a huge list of internet sites that I was going to buy parts from. Well I lost that when I had to reload my operating system. So I was wondering if there are any places that you guys suggest. I remember before that a poster had once directed me (or someone else and I clicked on it) to a site that sold lower parts kits that included GOOD parts. Like Magpul stocks and decent trigger setups as a kit. Anyone know who I am talking about. Or does anyone else have any suggestions for places with slamming deals right now? I am not in super hurry. So I am taking my time looking for good deals.

Thanks

GandR tactical and bravo company, They both have great service and products. Between the two of them you can build your whole gun with the best.

HERE

The G & R Tactical Lower Parts Kits (LPK) are considered top notch. Look no further, unless you want to spend the big bucks for a Colt LPK. The best thing about them is you can eliminate buying parts you don’t need, and just get the ones you do need. Link provided below:

heres a guide that i used that helped me put my lower together. it helped me out big time since it was the first lower that i put together. hope that it helps you as much as it did me. have fun!

Thanks everyone for the links. I will especially use that guide when I set up my lower.

I know this may be a dumb question… but

Does anyone know of the lower parts kits out there, are anyone of them better than the other. Is there a lower parts kit with a decent single state trigger. I know none are going to be geisel perfect. But is there one that is top notch that will not break the bank. I am just trying to save cash here so I can buy the best barrel I can and later spend big money on a trigger.

Thanks

dpms makes one for under $50 and you can find them anywhere.

I see no reason to buy an inferior DPMS kit when there are options like the G&R, Daniel Defense, or CMT kits which are all better for hardly if any added cost.

Any stock trigger will feel like a stock trigger. Learn how to shoot with that, then save up pennies for a Geissele SSA - in the end you’ll be happiest with this route.

A Daniel Defense or G&R LPK will set up right with the best cost:quality ratio.

Well I am not an expert but I can shoot pretty decent already. I can hit man size targets consistent at 500 meters iron sights with the proper elevation adjustments made. I shot consistently expert when I was in the military.

So far G&R seems like a good deal.

But any thoughts on this?

Seems like a slamming deal. But I might be missing something.

My lack of knowledge leaves me with the fear of being ripped off always. lol

There isn’t that drastic a price difference between the DPMS and Daniel Defense. Try AIM Surplus, I’ve been ordering from them for a few years now -top notch service!

They also stock the Spike’s Tactical kits.

90% of the people here will advise you to stay far far away from RRA 2-stage triggers. The reports I’ve seen say they are prone to failures and others say they WILL eventually turn into a mushy 1-stage trigger. Some people have that happen in a few hundred rounds, some people have that happen in thousands… some are still waiting.

Get a solid LPK and either a stock USGI trigger, or if you want a 2-stage there are other options. KAC, LMT, and Geissele are the manufacturers of 2-stage triggers that are trusted to combat.

Thanks for the advice on RRA.

Do things like anti walk pins make a difference? Is this mod worth the money or more for show?

Also somewhere on this site use to be the ability to build my own upper. I remember when I found it, it was hard to get to and I had to use an outside link. Which makes me think, it is not searchable. Has anyone else seen that before too?

Thanks

I just finished a custom build and ordered a majority of my parts from just a few places to save on shipping.

G&R is a good LPK and they have a few other parts
DSG Arms had almost everything else I wanted with great prices and fast shipping

Bravo Company is good but if you’re Mil or LE they don’t offer discounts and are priced higher than others. Also look local.

It’s better to have them then not. Usually when parts start to wear and everything is all broken in thats when you’ll need them. Atleast that’s my experience and what I believe… That’s when my pins started to walk atleast & that’s when I started buying mine…

Their deal (a great one, BTW) ended on 12/31. They had it up sporadically for a few days after that so stragglers (like me) could get theirs ordered, but it’s all over now :(.

All good I guess. I had my heart more set on a stainless barrel anyways. If I remember correctly, there was no option for that. But that deal was amazing.
