Paint did turn out really well
How many colors did you use
3 total colors.
Aged copper, A lighter green and flat black. All rustoleum then rustoleum matte clear. Wiped with alcohol between coats of paint then distressed with scotch brite before clear

Not at all. That post served no purpose. The color is obvious in the pictures. I personally don’t care what anyone thinks of the paint. It’s paint. Especially when the thread is months old. Someone is just looking to stir the pot. Typical on here I suppose
I would expect a “colors aren’t for me” or a “that such or such part has a track record of failures”. Not a “looks like baby shit”. Who cares

Taste is a matter of different strokes for different folks. Me personally I like the amount of care you took in painting it.

Yes, I’m a dad. My children were infants once. I became intimately familiar with all sorts of bodily fluids:) Don’t know what “BF” is, though.
The paint job in the photo is called “Baby Poop” by the FalFilers. It’s the paint job used by the Rhodesians to break up the outline of their rifles. The Rhodies asked the terrs how they’d spot the Rhodesian patrols to lay ambushes. They found out their black rifles were easy to spot. That’s when the Rhodies started painting their rifles. They used automotive paint and the colors they chose matched the color of the vegetation native to Rhodesia. The soldiers used whatever they could get their hands on to paint their rifles- paint brushes or even old socks. A lucky few has access to paint sprayers. Each soldier painted his own rifle and no two were alike.
Part of building a Rhodie FAL is painting it with baby poop. One of the FALFilers sells baby poop in the Marketplace, the FalFiles EE.
Baby poop really is a thing.
