My First AR Build.......well sort of

I hope I posted this in the correct forum.

Well its been a fun time building my first AR. I can’t ever see me buying a complete AR again. These are way too much fun to build and way easy. However I can only take credit for assembling the lower. Mike at Dtech built the upper for me. But it was to my specs. This is going to be my go to coyote rifle. Can’t wait to use it.

Anyway the specs

UPPER
6mm DTI
22" Shilen Select Match Grade Barrel, Fluted
Integral Compensator
Mike’s Free Float Tube

LOWER
Mega Arms Billet Lower (Ambi bolt release)
Timney 3# trigger
G and R Tactical LPK
LMT Buffer tube
Magpul ACS stock
Ergo Tactical Grip

OPTIC
Swarovski Z5 3.5 X 18 X 44
BRX reticle
Larue Mount

OTHER
PRI Mag
Quake Sling

Below you can see the Ambi bolt release

I know that the KNS pins are not necessary. However, this is my first build. I don’t know anyone around me personally that has built their own. So part of my learning curve was that since I bought the LPK from G&R without the trigger, it didn’t come with any trigger/hammer pins. Obviously. But I was thinking that some would come with the Timney, but alas, they don’t. So I bought some KNS pins. Live and learn, no big deal.

Very, very nice rifle and optics choice! How do you like the ambi lower?

I think I will like it. I just put it together this afternoon. Only shot about 5 rounds for feed and function.

I hope to be able to shoot it quite a bit next week for load development.

That lower kicks ass!

Nothing wrong with KNS pins, they look good on there. Nice rifle, love those Mega receivers.

Outstanding job! Looks great!
