Do you have any experience with the older Trijicon reflex sights? (RX01, etc.)
I’m curious how well the Meprolight compares. Specifically, issues such as reticle washout and the fact that the glass required a significant blue tint.
I like the idea of “always on” and battery free and have considered Trijicon the benchmark for fiber optics. If you have any experience with the older Trij’s and the Meprolight, I’d love to hear your thoughts on both.
I’d be very curious as to how the Meprolight does in the evening.
My experience with solar/tritium optics has been that, at night, they illuminate about like a set of trits on a handgun, ie., to quote noonesshowmonkey, “Not. Good.”
FO sights are phenomenal day optics, but the operative word there is, “day.”
My old TA50-4 is the only other optic that has no battery or switch BUT due to magnification/lens dia. and the small eye relief range makes quick target acquisition slower that the M21.
Also I have always had the anti-glare cover on it and have not noticed probs with the blue tint… of course all my shooting has been in the Sonoran desert during sunny daylight.
