I have read and searched and didn’t find this specific answer.
I called and talked to my CLEO and he said he would approve my SBR project. I have a few questions.
I don’t own any parts to my project yet. Should I wait for him to sign it until I get my lower. Or will he sign it and I fill in the serial later?
I am planning on getting a LMT 12" Piston upper.
Researching a lower now, any suggestions would be great.
I already own Bushmaster ar15 m4 style DI.
Thanks for reading and any help is appreciated.
Jason Reed.

Get the lower you plan to register in hand first.

I talked to GandRTactical today via email.
They suggested I just buy a LMT 12" SBR Complete gun.
My new question is, how do i go about buying this?
I will have to have the tax stamp to own the gun. How do I get paper work done before I purchase my gun.

Just call Grant at G&R. He can walk you through the process of buying the rifle, getting the paperwork started and finding a local C3 dealer to handle the transfer on your end.
Then again, since you’re in Nashville, you could always see if Sabre Defence has a nice SBR for you locally.

It’s in Winchester,TN, but it’s the most local place you’re going to find that will get you squared away. They can handle all of your class 3 stuff, paperwork, lowers, complete rifles.

Here’s how it works for this scenario:
You find a local dealer that will handle the transfer to you.
You call Grant and buy the SBR.
Your local dealer sends his info to Grant.
Grant sends a Form 3 to the ATF that has his info, your dealers info and the SBR info on it.
The ATF approves the Form 3.
Grant ships the SBR to your dealer.
Your dealer notifies you he’s got the SBR.
You and your dealer fill out a Form 4 and send it to the ATF with a check for $200.
You wait…
The ATF approves your Form 4 and sends it back!
Your dealer transfers the SBR to you.

And pick a GOOD DEALER… not some fucktard who part time deals out of his garage. A dealer who is well experienced in NFA transfers will be worth it.
Thanks for all the great input.

Why not form 1 the lower and buy the upper when it gets approved? This way you eliminate the local dealer. Either way you go, you have to get a LEO sign off and finger prints.

Unless he goes with a Corp, LLC, or trust.
