My build on the basis of Norinco (China)

Hi,
I’m from Ukraine. We have a very hard to get a normal American rifle. Basically just a very expensive European Sabre Defence. I bought a Chinese rifle and started working on it. Here is the result.

Looks good!

That’s actually not bad at all.

Thanks for joining the site.

You might want to fix your sights and put the rear BUIS behind the Eotech as it was meant to be.

Glad to see a Stoner fan in the land of the Kalashnikov!

Looks to me like you built a nice gun despite the challenges of location. It is almost as hard for us to build a quality AK…

Ironically my favorite AK happens to be a Norinco.

Congratulations, Gonzo_Ukraine, on your rifle! I hope it proves to be reliable.

You did good!

Thanks for all the good reviews! I am very pleased!

I was going to put the rear sight behind the collimator, but didn’t have time to re-adjust the EOTech before the IPSC-match  Then I saw that it makes sense. After all, I always use a collimator at the competitions. Magpul sights are needed so that I can finish the stage only if you messed up the EOTech. This hasn’t happened for three years. Therefore it’s logical to do so, to ensure maximum comfort during shooting with my main sight.
I have not decided yet. I’m still thinking about it.

For practical shooting AR definitely better.
I really like, and AR and AK. Each rifle has its advantages. I once wanted to buy a SIG-556 to combine the advantages of AR and AK. But this rifle has not been certified in Ukraine.

Ironically, almost all high-quality tuning for AK we order from the U.S. or order a good turner.

Ще не вмерла Українa

Okay, don’t write back to me in Ukranian or Russian… I left when I was 8 years (1990) old and it takes me for ever to read anything lol

Aside for the IG comment I would only add that the safety lever defiantly looks funky. Not sure the benefit of it but it just looks odd. I would go to a standard safety.

Other than that, with the restrictions on exportation of US made weapons parts you did a nice job with what you had.

I had no idea that the Ukraine progressed enough from the time of Communism and being able to only own smooth bore long guns to being able to own “assault weapons” but then again, I have not been back since I left, and have no relatives left there.

Thanks for sharing!

Здравствуйте!

Добро пожаловать в Aмериканской винтовке форум!

I am going to guess steel case ammo is okay through this. LOL Sorry could not pass that up.

Glad to see member from other countrys.

I have a question for you guys you typed out messages in the sarilic alphabet. Did you have to cut and past or is there a program you use?

Nice work!

You can change through the alphabets of tons of languages in Regional and Language options in Windows.

This is the method I usually use, however you have to buy a set of stickers to place on the keys so that you know where the characters are as the layout of a Cyrillic keyboard is nowhere close to a Latin keyboard.

Most operating systems let you change the input method so you can just type in whatever language you want.

I am neither a native speaker, nor a very good touch typist with anything other than QWERTY so for I tend to just copy 'n paste.

Ukrainian and Russian are different… so that’d actually be TWO new layouts to learn to type one. Боже мій!

Thats a nice weapon for someone in a formerly communist country, but you should ditch the hydraulic buffer, in addition to the previous suggestions

I would also seek a less noisy muzzle solution than that Howitzer brake.

And lose that Tac Latch. Unnecessary with a EoTech, just there to get hung on gear and pull the bolt out of battery.

I’d lose the Enedine buffer (for a standard carbine spring), Model 1 Tac-Latch (for a BCM Gunfighter CH or standard mil-spec CH) and the funky safety.
