My 1st full auto experience!!!

I got to fire my 1st full auto weapons this weekend!

I have to tell someone who cares, my wife just thinks it’s a waste of ammo.

I however, LOVE IT!!!

  1. I got to fire a HK 416 10.5 suppressed.
-Suppressor - Gemtech I believe, it was starting to get dark and I wanted to get in as much shooting as I could, so I didn’t think to read all the markings:o. It was so quiet you could fire without plugs and actually hear the bullet whistling as it went downrange.
-Optic- Ta33 with a red horse shoe. I really like this optic!
-HK Mags- didn’t have any problems out of the 100 or so rounds fired.
  • XM193, no issues.
-After it got dark, we used a 3rd gen nightvision optic mounted in front of the ACOG. I do not know the type other than it was white vs green. Jeez, literally looked almost like daylight. You could see individual leaves ontrees and read license plates on vehicles. I can really see why we dominate the night.

General observations: It was very easy to hit cans at 25 yards with a 3 round burst, we were also hitting steel with a 3 round burst at between 25 and 35 yards. More that 3 or 4 rounds it would begin to climb off target. Even though it is gas piston, you still get a puff of gas in the face with every shot. Nothing bad, just didn’t realize it would do that.

  1. Hungarian AK-47 with a milled receiver.
    -Basic fixed stock gun
    -Wolf 123gr “military” ammo

General Observations: Fun to shoot, makes lots of sparks on the steel targets, climbs very bad. I own a semi Polytech AKS and this rifle felt quite a bit heavier but it still climbed really bad. I am going to try one of the stamped receiver guns next time. The most I could get out of it in one burst was about 6 rounds before I let off due to not wanting to shoot over the berm. I can see why the Haji “Trust in Allah spray and pray” doesn’t work.:sarcastic:

  1. Last but most fun, H&K MP5A3 Silenced.
-It was not an integrally silenced unit. It had a Gemtech, on it I believe.

General Observations: The absolute most fun of the all to shoot. You could literally flip it over to full auto, lean into the gun and rip an entire magazine into the steel at 25 yards with no hearing protection at all. Just a PFFFFTTTTT and CLLLAAAANNNNGGGG! It was AWESOME! I realize that the HK 416 was more “effective” but I greatly preferred the MP5 for sheer fun factor. I didn’t like the location of the safety. Too far forward, I had to shift my thumb way forward to swith to the “many red bullets” marking:ph34r:

They didn’t have any linked up 5.56 or 7.62 this time but next time I am up we get to rock the M240B and the M249.:neo:

If you ever get the chance, jump on it with both feet!!!

I envy you, Sir. I’ve only had one experience with full auto, years ago. Dying to try it again.

Congrats must be nice. I’ll probably never have the chance.

Congrats!!! It is pretty fun. I’ve thought about purchasing a full auto AR, but I just didn’t think it was that much fun. However, it probably wouldn’t be a that bad of an investment financially.

I’ve had the opportunity to shoot a full auto Tommy Gun (now that was fun), HKMP5, and Sabre Defense M4. I was amazed at the amount of muzzle rise on the M4. I’ll bet it would be alot less with the new battlecomp.

I’d like to also shoot a Mini Gun at some point before I die.

I believe there is an annual machine gun shoot not to far away from me that I will try to make it to at some time.

I’ve had a few chances to fire some FA weapons. The most common was M4 both suppressed, and un-suppressed. One time, we put a .50 Beowulf upper on the FA lower… That was interesting…

I also have a little trigger time with a MAC-11. That thing was a little monster.

Happiness is a belt fed weapon!

I don’t have personal knowledge of this. Yet…:dance3:

They don’t have a Tommy Gun but they do have a HK UMP45, that one is also on my list.

I wish they had a mini-gun, but I bet they wouldn’t spot me the ammo for that one.:stuck_out_tongue:

Join the Army, we have all kinds of FA stuff for you to fire. We’ll also pay you to do it.

LOL!!! I was thinking the same thing. They even give you more rounds during US Weapons because they cut out the 50 cal

I missed the days of free ammo donated by the US Govt aka Field Op. Crow Hunter once you go beltfed you can never go back.

See… the parts I remember about the government giving me ammo is the endless cleaning of rifles and crew serves, and the endless line at the armory to turn them in, and the endless line of Staff NCOs yelling about how long its taking to clean and why the weapons aren’t clean yet…

But, the shooting was usually ok… except when the staff was around and it wasn’t some new boot LT that was the OIC… those were the days.

No such thing as a free lunch haha

If I’m correct I saw f/a mac-10’s for $1,000 back in 2000 and now they go for $3,000.

I agree with the wife. The only way I could get excited about full auto is if I could get it in rimfire.

But someone else was supplying the ammo.:dirol:

Doesn’t matter. I don’t find wasteful use of ammo to be titilating no matter who is footing the bill.

Every time I break a shot, I want that bullet to go some place special!

I personally LOVE shooting fullauto. No matter how frequently I shoot my FAs, I never tire of them. Am I shooting at any great distance? No. But it is fun to run long bursts and practice keeping them all as tight as possible center of mass at 25 yards and in.

HK UMP .45. My team test drove one for several months. i put a lot of ammo downrange in training with it. Didn’t like it, Made my teeth hurt. REALLY!! Loved my MP5 A2, would have walked through hell with it even though it was only a nine!

Until that day,
Darkop

I’ve fired a FA UMP. Very uncomfortable and not very fun. Fired an MP5SD and it was tons more fun.

The G36 and G36K were also a bit uncomfortable.
