That is a stupid marketing campaign from Bushmaster and only further alienates me from ever considering buying one.
The article itself paints the “Man Card” idea to be just as stupid as it really is, however doesn’t come close to discussing why everyday citizens need guns, or why they don’t. It seems to just be a whiny rant from this writer. Something he does well is associating gun owners with being immature, socially undeveloped and planning for events that are never going to happen.
This image of stupidy and immaturity is one that the gun industry needs to distance itself from. Guns are not toys, life is not a movie, people who buy them for this reason probably don’t know how to use them very well anyway - and this article sucks all around.
Actually… if you’re honest with yourself and have an open mind, you can see there’s quite a bit of truth in that article.

People will buy guns for all types of reasons. I buy guns because I need it for a specific purpose (home defense, concealed carry, hunting, competition shooting), or I just think it’s neat/cool (collecting/fun).
So far I haven’t bought a gun because I wanted to feel manly, but should I be in a genitalia removing accident - I still wouldn’t buy a piece of shit Bushmaster.
Reading the comments below, they are even worse than the article. The list of things I can be vilified for is constantly growing. I have been told I am mentally unstable for both my belief in God and my ownership of guns. Maybe if I take hormones to look more feminine, have a surgery to give me a vagina, wear girl jeans and burn a flag I will be considered normal again.
If you believe in hard work, self sufficiency, small government, your country, family and God, you are a wing nut. If you try to be two genders at once, you can go to college for free and can’t be fired for poor performance at work. That’s where we are these days.
