I am thinking about getting one, and would like one that uses ar mags. The regular ones I saw at the last show were $999 and included 5 mags. I didnt see any e4’s for sale.
The stock difference is what allows the use of ar mags, correct?

My question is can I get a regular one and buy the e4 stock so I can use my ar mags? Does anyone know what a stock costs? I couldnt find them on the microtech site. I would hope to sell the regular stock and mags to fund the e4 stock. Any opinions?

That’s great! Where can I buy one? I got to handle one today at gun store and absolutely loved the fit and feel. Seemed perfect to me but dealer wanted $2150 plus taxes I think I should be able to do better than that right…online?

Also which is better E4 or STG556? What’s the difference?

I found a STG556 for $999 @ CDNN but it has a 20" barrel and would prefer 16".

Buds prev had 16" barrelled STGs for under $1k.

If you don’t have AR mags already - I’d get the STG. Just stock up on STG mags and you will be fine. That is what I did.

The standard StG will accept Steyr AUG magazines and MSAR’s proprietary magazine (which is one tough SOB).

The E4 uses M16 magazines only.

Thanks but I only see 20" there that price…maybe I missed one?

Also STG mags are VERY hard to find.

Not to start anything but I don’t want the E4 because it accepts AR mags…:):smiley:

The E4 has a couple of different features, but they are essentially the same rifle and stocks interchange between the two. The E4 also has a much larger bolt release that some guys like and some guys don’t. The E4 also has steel inserts in five different places to allow the user to attach accessories like rails, tripods, and sling mounts where ever they want. The top rail on the E4 is longer and lower than our original rail.
