MS is bringing back a classic start button for W8

Should fix most peoples #1 complaint. All the metro menu happened to be is a full screen start menu that ran apps. Where they really messed up is having dual programs for many functions like viewing a picture. You had to go through and set the preference for what you wanted to open, and this created a mess. Take OneDrive (Skydrive) for example, and there’s a metro app and the regular file explorer program that goes in your user folder.

All these dual apps, menus, and functions get in the way of having a unified UI. I don’t totally hate their new UI but for a laptop or desktop the W7 style file explorer method is superior for productivity. The metro UI is decent for things like a newspaper app, weather, light email usage, ect.

I hate my Windows 8 equipped laptop. I barely even use it. Most of my posts here are from my Kindle.

It’s not that bad. The w8 kernel is faster than w7

Get Classic Shell instead works fine.

I just got a new laptop. It came with win8, man, I don’t normally knock windows but win8 sucks… so does 8.1

I have this nowdual booting into Linux SolydK and it kills windows. I have to have windows for one program and that’s all it get used for.

This Linux is so fast and intuitive. I have never used Linux and it’s very easy. Programs install in seconds not hours. The more I use it the more I like it.
