MRP CQB 16" SS

I’ve been thinking about ordering a 16" SS barrel for my MRP CQB but I’m curious what it is going to end up weighing. Anyone know what could expect with that upper setup on a Defender + SOPMOD lower?

I do not own the 16" SS but do own the 16" CL and 18" SS SPR and can give you a bit of reference but not a direct comparision or such since I do have a 16" SS in the stable:)

Just to add real quick, the two SS 5.56 models are absolute tack driving barrels with a couple of the right loads.

The weights on the guns below are (with loaded mag)
SPR SS 18": 11 Ibs. 8 oz.
Recon CL 16": 9 lbs. 15 oz.

The SS will def. weigh more but given the shooter and ammo are present, the SS barrel will shine in terms of accuracy. Try the rounds with T-2s(TAP T2 75gr. and BH 68gr. hp) if you go the SS direction.

Trident, what kind of accuracy do you get out of your 18" stainless? I was debating getting one also. Thanks

Its by far the most accurate AR barrel I own or have had the opportunity to shoot. Mine is the most current model in 1/7th…however the beginning ones were 1/8ths and also are amazing barrels as Edwin907 will tell you.

couple targets with it…
BH’s 68gr. HP …note this group was from a cold bore and was first target I shot that particular day…after the 10rd. group I then slightly adjusted for the rezero thus the two extra shots.

TAP 75gr. T2’s shoot the best w. the BHs 68gr. HP being prob. my second fav. load for it.
Here is what the TAP T2s do…The first 5 rd. group is from a cold bore…the second 5rd. group is after 70 rds. down the pipe…as you can see after 75 rds. fouling has not reached a level to noticeably effect the accuracy.

Overall, you get what you pay for on this barrel, it might be almost $500 but I personally could not find another platform(rifle length chassis) and barrel(18" SPR SS) that could shoot as well and so it was beyond worth it and has certainly so far charted the groups I was hoping to see out of it:) Very few things I would rec. more than this barrel.
