Good day all. I will soon be moving to Myrtle Beach SC and hope to meet new friends. Any info on ranges would be great.
I’m up in the Columbia area. Welcome to SC.
Welcome to SC, I am from up in Anderson, NW part of the state. Myrtle Beach has 3 good gun stores that I am aware of, 2 of which are kinda high on thier prices. There is one on the 17 bypass with an indoor range, but he has high prices on his guns compared to a lot of other stores in the state that I have been to. There is also one on 17 S, down by Murrels Inlet where you turn to go out to Dick’s Marina that is pretty good. May I recommend some resturants, go to Calabash NC, look up the original Calabash resturant; it is on the inlet front, the locals should be able to give you directions. Also Drunken Jacks at Murrels Inlet. If you want to go out fishing, I have went out on a Gulf Stream trip from Dicks Marina and caught fish all day long. We caught so many that I got tired of reeling them in. Go in May. Also, try Dicks restaurant at Barefoot Landing; it is an experance that everyone should try.
I am in Florence. Not too far from the beach. Welcome.
There is a nice, outdoor public range south of you off of Hwy 17 called Twin Ponds Rifle Range. It is in the Francis Marion National Forest. There are several indoor ranges in Mrytle Beach as well, but you have to buy their ammo and there is a range officer that literally stands over your shoulder as you shoot.
You’ll love the area other than the swarms of tourists 3 - 6 months out of the year. You should get signed up for the Pat Rogers class in Columbia this December.
Welcome!
Stephen
