Below is a screen shot from “Planet Of The Apes” (1968). It’s the scene where Col.Taylor inspects the survival kit. The pistol isn’t very well visible, but it has been variously identified as a 1911 or maybe a Browning Hi-Power. Thoughts? Considering the age of the movie and that the crew was supposedly all military, I would have thought it to be a 1911.

I believe that it is actually a Colt M1908 pocket hammerless.
Colt 1903 = .32 ACP
Colt 1908 = .380 ACP
Externally identical, just differed in chambering.
i’d probably pass on the 2 volt meters to make space for a full size pistol.
