I have 1-6 Mark 6 that I am trying to find the best method to mount on an AR. So far I tried the following mounts:
Bobro dual lever 34mm - at 1.63" it puts the scope too high to use with a standard stock. I had to get a Larue RISR in order to be able to obtain a cheek weld. However, this combination works, and I am able to obtain cheek weld from standing/prone.
Badger 1.125" 34mm rings - too low. I have to “push” my cheek into the stock.
I am curious what mounts people are using with the scope, and how do they “feel”, especially since you need to get a proper eye position for the illumination.
Anything less than 1.5" and maybe on very limited circumstance/combo 1.375", you’re going to have issues mounting a BUIS if its done in the standard way.
bp, my plan is to go with Dueck offset BUIS, so minimum is not a concern.
HK, are you able to get a concistent cheek weld with the ADM mount? With the Bobro, I had to have a “chin” weld in order to be able to see through the scope. I am considering getting Leupold IMS MK 6 to try.
In the end I went with the Badger 1.49 one piece mount. I am very happy with the setup as it is the lightest of Bobro and IMS. It provides enough cantilever and simple to use.
The Bobro while nice, is over twice as heavy as Badger and has huge rings that cover a large part of turrets.
I know the color wise, is the 2 black shares the same part number? some sites shows 25284 pic look exactly like the 30mm version. Meanwhile, I saw KAC website shows the 34mm has white KAC markings on the right side.
For your uses, the IMS would work fine - mine is still just lying around unused.
I went with the LT-135 (at 2.01" - way up there) to clear IR Lasers mounted in front of the scope mount and under the front of the scope.
