Mounting red dot on AK gas tube mount?

Is the heat a killer? Is the Ultimak the was to go when mounting a red dot on an AK even though it mounts on the gas tube? And has there been any lose of zero issues?

No loss of zero. If you stick with Aimpoint optics you will be okay.

I have found zero downside and a HUGE upside in using the UM and T1 setup… Just stick with Aimpoint and you will be fine with the heat.
