Mounting an EOTech

I just got an EOTech 552 on loan from a friend and I am trying to figure out where on my flattop…my flattop rail is “T-marked”. Anyone have any suggestions? If I mount it on “T6”, is T6 where I put the mounting screw or where the face of the sight should be? Please help.

My suggestion is to mount it as far forward as you can to widen your field of view. There should be a bar that runs across the bottom of the scope. Line that up with a notch in your rail and remember the number of the notch you placed it in. Because there will be a very little bit of play before you tighten the scope on, you want to slide the scope as far forward in the notch before tightening so that when the rifle recoils, it does not shift forward.
