Mounting an Aimpoint

Hi everyone, just purchased an Aimpoint M3 with the Larue cantlever mount. Was wondering how other people mounted theirs as to get the top at top. Its alittle different without crosshairs to get it strait. Thanks in advance.

Well, the correct way is the having a turrets at 12 and 3. If you use the centerlines of the turrets and line them up with centerline of the mount, you’re good to go.

You can even use a bubble level, if you like. There are multiple reference points on the rifle you can check (e.g. the flats of the receiver for horizontal, etc.) during the mounting.

Ok that makes more sense. I was looking at the way the flip up caps were, that put me off abit. I’m thinking it maybe alittle guess work too huh.

You can get a small 6 inch or any level will do and all you do is vise or securely rest the gun and place level on rail till gun is level then place level on top of scope turret & rotate until level and alternately tighten screws a few twists while checking level until screws are tight. No guess work needed;)

Great, thanks guys for the imput. One last thing, the instructions for the larue mounts say to use locktite (included) on the bottom screws, there is no need to put it on the top screws right?

You know getting this optic was pretty expensive but boy is it sweet.
