mounting a light to the FSB

What options exist for mounting a light to the FSB on an AR?

I have no use for a quad rail, and don’t particularly like the add-on rails for the standard M4 handguards. The FSB seems like the logical place to me.

I won’t have a light on 100% of the time, so I’d like a solution that is the least obtrusive when the light is not installed.

Sure did.

Aside from the MI mount, I didn’t see anything in that thread that facillitates mounting to the FSB.

I don’t really like th MI mount, because it puts a rail on both sides of the FSB, and I only need it on one side.

I’m hoping that there is an alternative out there that is even more basic and simple.

GG&G has a mount, that puts a sling swivel on one side and arail on the other, I think they have just the rail also.

I beleive SureFire still has a light that mounts the FSB, in the classic line.

Have you checked out the Elzetta flashlight mount?

Here is one mounted on my carbine:

Ned Christiansen has an excellent mount. You need to send your upper to him to have it installed.
