Mounting a Aimpoint- X & Y axis?

How does one mount a Aimpoint & get it mounted so the X&Y axis is level?

I have no problems with a standard scope but the red dot is new to me.

The key for aimpoing is making sure the windage/elevation turrets are either in either a 9/12 or 12/3 o’clock configuration, ensuring correct adjustments for the dot.
Alternatively, M4 and the Micro series eliminate the issue all together.

I use a beat up magazine or magwell block to secure the rifle in a clamp and check it for level with a 2ft level. Then I secure my optic mount and place the CCO in it with just enough tension on the ring screws to keep it from moving freely. I take the elevation cap off the CCO and place my level (torpedo level or 2 footer) on top of the the turret to check and adjust until level.

If you’re using an M2/M3 type CCO make sure the battery compartment/switch is at 2 o’clock, some mounts like GGG require different clocking of the switch.

T1/H1 are much easier to level

Thanks guys!
