MOTORCYCLES!

Been two years since I’ve had one. Buying my buddy’s vmax. Let’s see everyone’s bikes!

A good friend of mine has a '74 CB360. Not an easy bike to find parts for (by Honda standards) as they were only made for three years. Still, it’s fun and reliable, and the parts are out there if you look hard enough. Lots of stuff on eBay.

I have a '70 CL450.

Unfortunately I don’t own either one of these anymore:

1973 Kawasaki F11 250 2-stroke. This was a real fun bike. I ended up getting tags and insurance for it, drove it all around town for a while:

This one I bought because I thought it was cool and I wanted a project. 1982 Suzuki GS550MZ Katana. I believe it was the first of the Katanas and more or less one of the first of the “crotch-rocket” style bikes that eventually became so popular. It was wrecked almost 10 years before I bought it and just sat unfixed. I got it running, rode it a few times and sold it. Tuning an inline-4 is a pain in the arse. I got the carbs sync’d but never quite tuned right:

Nice rides!

Awesome!

I still have my motorcycle license but haven’t ridden in a decade.

I’d love to have a little cafe racer, or one of those old BMW’s with the horizontally mounted motors.

I remember seeing a very retro looking Japanese bike, but that was shaft drive, back in 1992 or so, that I thought was really really cool. I know this is very vague, but do you guys have any idea of what I’m talking about?

I need to get me another bike. Sold my 03 gixxer after marriage and kids. I want something to put around on around town…

My first bike was a 20 year old CB360. Orange tank. Original rubber.

As I think all running bikes are, it was fun, but also way underpowered for the weight.

I wouldn’t spend too much money on it.

I have that exact bike but in blue  Is yours original or restored? Mine is not quite as clean. Fun bikes.

Mine is original, a little over 12,000 miles on it. That pic was taken the day I brought it home. It’s never been that clean since!

I had a CB550 Super Sport and wish I still had it.

Well, pulling the trigger, guys. Been two years since I’ve had a bike… buying my buddy’s vmax. He’s got close to $20k invested. Won’t bother to tell ya what I’m paying. All I’ll say is he’s been unemployed for a year and the bike’s sat for 3. Pics to follow.

Up until a few years ago I was still racing vintage motocross. I got into race promoting, lost my ass and lost interest. I still have many old bikes.

I have Monarks, Maico’s CZ’s, DKW’s, Sach’s, and most of a bultaco. All are early 70’s. About 3 maybe 2 years ago I sold an fella in Washington 37 Husqvarna’s, from 1967 to 1983.

It took him the biggest uhaul truck you can rent, the biggest uhaul trailer you can rent two pickup trucks and one extra trailer to move all the stuff back to Wa.

If your interested look up an orginization called AHRMA. They still road race MX, Short track and trials vintage motorcycles all over the US.

My father has 3 vintage hogs, not sure years but one is a hardtail jockey shift, and another is the 60 era harleys with the 2 tone paint an the big red sofa seat. Not sure the other one. He also has a 75 triumpth bonniville.

Ive got my YZ125 thats rotting at home while I rot here.

Motorcyled and firearms are THE family sports for us.Other motorized fun like snowmobiles is included in that. We run all Skidoos.

Just getting out of riding. Have been riding 18 years, since 1998 on the same ride. I am looking to retire it, send it to the glue factory (looking in to donating it to a trade scool or something, let the kids learn how to rebuild on its carbs) It has a BUNCH of miles but dynoed strong 117 rwhp back in '05 or so. I don’t want to sell it, it’d kill me to be sitting in the cage with the carseats, kids and be passed by my old bike. Anyway, love bikes, but need to take some time off. Clutch hand injury, I can almost make it to the edge of the city before my hand goes numb and tingly. Reckon I’ll take a couple years off and look for something less agressive in riding position. I’ll be looking for a SuperMotard, Sport Tour, Adventure Tour or something old school when it comes time to get back in the saddle.

Keep posting threads like this, I need to miss it.

MacX:

Don’t leave the riding brotherhood! Clutchless bikes are here and here to stay. You say sport tourer? FJR1300AE. No Clutch, fast bike, good riding position.

Yup! Got one again about a year and a half ago after not having one for about 10.

2001 Ducati 748S previously owned by the drummer of Chevelle…

I’m looking to get some new pics of it and I’ll post them up when I do…

those bikes are so cool… saw a guy zipping by the campus on one yesterday

2006 Hayabusa on a family trip last year from Colorado, down to Route 66 and across to Vegas, then back through Moab.

Man, I need to go riding!

edit: Sorry, just saw that this was a request for vintage rides. My apologies.
