LAV’s are the heat. I remember when they spun up 3rd LAI, and they were demonstrating how accurate their optical sights were on a range at Hansen. They would shoot basketballs with the 25MM, out to hundreds of meters… pretty sweet! 
No idea man. They usually went where the trucks did. My company wasnt lucky enough to have trucks. We hoofed it everywhere.
LAV s can be sweet when it comes to having to go somwhere, hell CAT never could keep up with us.
They still liked traveling with us, if for no other reason than for the on-board air pump when their tires popped trying to keep up.

I really wish my squad/platoon mates would have kept my disposable cameras for me after I was wounded in Iraq back in 2003, but when they rat-fucked my pack the day I was shot, they were only concerned with taking the smokes, copenhagen and my boot socks inside of it (we didn’t have any PXs there during the invasion to buy our tobacco like they do nowadays).
Unfortunately I don’t have one single pic of myself in Iraq.
Anyways, I’m glad you’re back safe and sound. Semper Fi’ brother!
