In everyones opinion what 3 rifles are the most accurate 308 rifles
And what 3 bolt action rifles are the most accurate
Also what 3 semi auto rifles are the most accurate?
Loaded questions yes but im just curious and yes it will help me decide my next rifle. By precision shooting im talking about long range shooting 300yrds all the way out to 1000yrds

Each gun, each barrel, each lot of ammo are individuals.
There are some phenomonal individual barrels that have come out of every factory, and even the “best” can have ones that don’t meet expectation.
So is the larue 20"obr alot more accurate than the larue predatar 18" rifle, or is there barely any difference in accuracy?
The only thing you can guarantee is that it will have a higher muzzle velocity if all other variables are the same.
Ok and besides match grade ammo, what brand ammunition do u think gives u the most accuracy in the obr and predatar.

Given the same diameters shorter barrels are stiffer than long barrels which should translate into better accuracy. Whether it is noticeable or not would remain to be seen. Of course the barrel profiles may be different, if the longer barrel was larger in diameter it might be as stiff as the shorter barrel. And, two inches is not going to make a lot of difference. It is generally true that short barrels are more accurate.
You can’t make a list of “most accurate” guns and rank them 1, 2, 3, et cetera. Given three guns by three different makers you might be able to do so but take another three seemingly identical guns, the order might be different. Also, some guns will prefer one bullet, another gun will prefer another bullet, given that, one of the bullets may be better suited for longer range.
Are you capable of utilizing “the most accurate”…truth is, most aren’t. I’m sure not a sub-MOA shooter. And neither are 95%+ of shooters. You are much better off with a precision rifle like a Remington 700 in .308, .300 win mag, or .30-06’ and putting top dollar glass on top and feeding it quality match ammo rather than buying the “best”. There is no “best” out of the box rifle, all have their limitations from the factory without having serious modifications.
A R700 with quality glass, ammo, and shooter skills are factory capable of printing MOA, some in rare circumstances 1/2 MOA. But the cost to deliver 1/4 MOA match accuracy, quadruples or more to obtain this level of accuracy. You can pretty much count on price doubling going MOA-1/2 MOA, and doubling that cost to go from 1/2-1/4.
I’m not going to answer your question for semi auto precision…I just don’t have enough experience. But with my high quality match ammo, Scope, and R700 I am at best barely capable of 3/4 MOA…and I don’t feel I can do better because of skill and rifle.

My Les Baer will shoot half inch, or better 5 shot troops on demand providing the shooter does their part, on a good day the groups will be under a half inch, and the ten shot groups will be at a half inch or better. It really does not seem to matter whether you use 168’s or 175’s either.
