Mossberg MOE forend and vertical grip?

I recently got the MOE forend for my 590A1 and I thought I’d try mounting a vertical grip on it just to see if it enhanced my ability to quickly and forcefully rack the action at all. I bought an RVG grip but during installation I found that the mounting screws stick up too far and thus prevent sliding the forend back on to the mag tube. No big deal, I put the RVG on one of my ARs instead. Does anyone know if the screws for Magpul’s similar MVG grip ( the one designed specifically for MOE handguards) are sized any differently and perhaps short enough to allow proper mounting on the Mossberg MOE forend?

Unless you have a handicap that prevents you from gripping the fore end I wouldn’t do it even if I could. If you are determined to try… shorten the screws if the backing plate clears. GH

Not sure how everything is set up on the Mossberg forend but the Remington version has a channel at the bottom of the forend for the backing plates and allows mounting of the accessories with no issues using the screws supplied with Magpul’s rail sections. I was running an AFG on mine for a while but has since removed it.

I am running the mossberg setup with RVG grip and didn’t see any problems and also using magpul rails and hardware.
