Looks good, but (if my memory is correct) kind of odd to call it retro due to those features. Best I can recall, every 590 I have seen going back to mid to late 80’s had polymer furniture and seems like the original ghost ring sight for them was the one Sage International makes.
I think “Retro Style” might be more accurate.
The wood on that is nice. Seems like they had a brochure showing upgraded wood and maybe a few other upgrades (gold trigger maybe?) on some 500’s and the self loading shotguns and bolt actions they were making at the time.
I like it! I put some wood on my 5901A1 a few years ago. The LOP with the wood is much better for me.

Thank you for posting the link. Been seriously thinking of a shotgun for HD, and nothing wrong with an aesthetically pleasing piece as long as it’s functional. As I can’t seem to come across any of those police surplus 870’s floating around, this is a nice choice + warranty.
Strangely enough, I really like this. The older I get, the more I appreciate wood stocks.

Picked this up the other day. Heavy-walled barrel, heat shield, Ghost Ring sights, walnut furniture. Sling is a Blue Force Gear hunting sling. This thing is definitely not a lightweight:

This has me wanting to track down a wood furniture set for one of mine.
It does have a nice “get off my lawn” vibe to it.
I’m thinking about staining my wood stocked 870 to a dark walnut now.
