Anyone have any experience with these? I have had one for a few years and have not shot it much. Using low recoil Winchester Ranger buck shot and it shoots too high. At 25 yds its off the target. Its got the cheap ATI “Tacticool” stock. Im thinking about a standard composite stock, which is issued in most depts, agencies, etc.
Not a fan of the 500’s but overall the ones we have/had shot to point of aim.
A lot of our officers who don’t shoot shotgun much do shoot high because they mount the shotgun too low in the shoulder. Next time you shoot hold you head erect, bring the stock to your cheek and then move it straight back into the shoulder - at that point you can lean, etc. to your heart’s desire - the shotgun is mounted properly.
I don’t mean to be too simplistic but this is a fairly common error - the pupil of your eye, the rear sight plane (flat spot on the top of the receiver) and the front bead need to be aligned. It’s easy to drop the stock a little and not notice you aren’t all lined up.
