I picked up a used rolling thunder for a good deal. I already removed the big ass brake, but now don’t know what to do about the end of it. The threads that the brake attached to are exposed and I can’t find anything that would cover them up. Does anyone have recommendations on what to do? There is also no bead sight on the barrel. Am I just going to have to deal with it or are there any attachments I could purchase or should I just get a new barrel. Before I get crap about the pistol grip too, I am putting a normal stock on it before I shoot it. Thanks.
Screw the BS comp/ weight back on and sell it. Buy one of these http://www.woodburyoutfitters.com/product_p/5053.htm You will be way ahead of the game if you are looking at buying a barrel and stock!! GH
I really like the finish on the receiver so i don’t want to get rid of it, but I might consider selling the barrel and buying a regular barrel. I’m planning to buy the magpul stock whenever it is released so I’m gonna end up not using the original stock anyways. I have a stock already to use in the mean time. So the barrel is pretty much a lost cause? What about ghost ring sights? Don’t they have to be welded to the barrel anyways?
whats the barrel length without the brake on it??
18.5". I would think the brake would have been permanently attached otherwise, but I did double check after removal.
It’s 18.5" w/o the hint on the end. It’s a byproduct of a project I was working with Mossberg. You can put a bead on it easy enough, or run the shotgun with a red dot. The thingy screwed on the barrel had nothing to do with my project, just the barrel.
One of the prototype barrels with accessories ![]()
