I just looked on Model 1 Sales website. I was interested in buying an A1 Stock from them.
Are their products any good?
On ARFcom someone mentioned to not buy off their website using creditcard… Any experiences with this company?

bought an upper from them over the internet a few years ago. no issues. had the bolt break after 600 rounds but more than a year after purchase. they still replaced it. i would buy from them again
having your bolt break after 600 rounds is definitely an “issue.”
by accounts, they have “really good customer service.” fat lot of good that does you when you’re standing there getting shot at with a broken gun in your hands. they’re just a typical cheap parts assembler that banks on the fact that most people will never put more than 1000 rounds through their guns anyway, so who cares if they have to replace broken parts every once in a while.
there’s about 30 threads chock full of problems and complaints with M1S guns… they’re definitely not good stuff. buy whatever you want to buy, however.
On top of most of their parts being of low quality, there are currently issues with their website being used to steal credit card information.
If you do not expect to receive high quality components, and you do not care if your credit card info is stolen, then you will probably be satisfied with ordering from them.
Thanks, those replies are all I needed to hear to stay away. I’m on a budget but I’m not gonna buy crap. I definitely won’t buy from someone who is known to have security issues with credit card theft either.
Again,
Thanks!
Bravo Company USA uppers are the best bang for the buck right now and the quality is superb. There is simply no reason to give your hard earned dollars to folks that produce shoddy kit (Model 1 Sales, etc) in this day and age.

Simply put, NO!
Model 1 Sales?? RUN AWAY!!!
so how many of you have actually had issues with guns or parts that you personally have bought from them or are all of you basing your oppinion on what you read on the net? . not everyone can afford the bravo company, colt and danniel defense guns. i also have a rock river that has had as many issues as the model 1 gun, based on what you guys are saying, that is now junk. colts have issues just as any other mass produced weapon. you try it out way before your life depends on it, learned that in the army. bottom line, there are many other better guns out there for the same or just a bit more money. do your reasearch and chose wisely. you will learn lots from fixing and tweeking your weapon. buy one and lots of ammo then go shoot.
I’ve owned 5 M1S kit guns (started off in the AR world on the wrong foot, you could say) and will never purchase so much as a roll pin from them.
Good point. So I guess we should dump our good guns and get Model 1 Sales rifles in the hope that they break often so that we will get lots of experience fixing them.
Depends on what you buy from them. They sell many name brand parts. Use Model 1 as another source for big name parts when parts are out of stock elsewhere. I have bought Magpul Pmags and mag followers, YHM, RRA,etc. and Barrett 6.8 mags from them. They make good products right? Stay away from barrels, bolt carrier groups or BCG componants.
If you do order form them, upgrade to a chrome-lined barrel. Their standard barrels are button rifled and good for maybe 4,000 rounds. I got about 3,500 out of one before it was thoroughly toasted.
its guys like you with your head in you arse that keep this crap going. you pull small parts out a entire paragraph and us that for your own b.s. you know what was meant. pack sand
Seriously man, try and read your posts from the perspective of somebody who isn’t trying to justify their previous purchase of a Model 1 sales gun…
By the way shooting 600 rounds in a year plus time through one gun is not really a lot - so the failure you experienced is pretty bad and telling of M1S guns…
the thing is they made good on the issue, far better service than i have had from rock river. trust it with my life, no. good for fun and varmint shooting, yes. which is what the average ar owner will do. i guess the tweeking and fixing would have better stated by building your own from parts. i did jump on that a bit hard. one that note, my last was built on a daniel defense barrel put together by pk firearms. we have strayed from the original question about a1 stocks. check the ee on here, arfcom, or gunbroker. M1 sales stocks are crappy
The real issue is that you for an upper that was substandard and could probably have purchased a quality one for a little more.
I went to their website just now and saw that they charge 55.00 for a standard bolt assembly. Of course, they provide ZERO specs on that bolt. I can almost guarantee that they are not HP/MPI tested. So why pay that price when you can get a good one for about 12.00 more?
You said that it is probably good for plinking or varmint hunting. But considering that some of use shoot 600 rounds in one or two sessions I don’t see how buying their stuff is a “deal”. Especially if you pay 1000.00 for a training course and your Model 1 crap ends up putting you out of training.
We have discussed their stuff here before. It is for the most part crap that un-informed people buy. We try to educate people at M4C and prevent them from learning that the hard way.
what finally turned you away from them? bad gun performance, service, or…?
i did ask the same question before i bought. i got mostly favorable reviews thats why i went ahead with the purchase
Yep. That sounds about right.
