MISSOURI – NEW STEEL TACTICAL PRECISION MATCH! – JUNE 23RD – HOUSTON, MO

[b]Long Range Precision Shooters –

Big Piney Sportsman’s Club will hold a newly developed one-day steel tactical precision match at our 800-yard range facility near Houston, MO on Sunday, June 23rd, 2013. The shooter briefing is at 0900 CDT, and the match should be complete by 2pm.

This is a 12-stage tactical match that will test a variety of long range skills from 100 to 700 yards. The match will include various target sizes in both paper and steel, timed and untimed stages, a variety of barricades, known and unknown distances.

Some of the stages include: A ‘Man vs Man Counter Sniper’ competition pitting you directly against other shooters in a single elimination tourney; a ‘Designated Marksman’ event to hit five targets at various distances for time…beat the time and you get additional points; ‘Know Your Limits’ events in both paper and steel to build your judgement of when to take the shot; a ‘Hostage Rescue’ stage to test your steadiness; a dot drill, and much more. We don’t think you will be disappointed.

It is designed to challenge shooters from novice through expert. Bolt and gas guns are all welcome. Round count is a maximum of 60. Most shooters will finish using 43-50 rounds.

Entry fee is $20. Homemade lunch is $5. Water, beverages, and toilet facilities are available on site.

There is some movement from stage to stage, so bring a pack or bag to carry your gear.

Calibers up to 300 winmag may be used, speed limit 3100 fps, no steel content or tracer rounds.

[b]The Paper Stages:

Stage 1 - Dot Drill for Cold Bore/Check Your Zero/Warm Up - 100 Yards - Five shots only! Large dots (1 MOA) are worth 10 points each for a hit, small dots (5/8 MOA) 20 points for a hit…Choose wisely. Score up to 100 points. This is the only stage at an even distance…get your DOPE charts ready!

Stage 2 - Know Your Limits – 185 Yards – Up to Five shots only! Only one shot per dot, in any order. Any miss voids the entire stage. Stop whenever you think you have hit the limits of your accuracy. Score up to 100 points.

Stage 3 - Hostage Rescue – 215 Yards – Two shots only! (One per target head) Scores 50 for a hit in the box, 30 points in the head but outside the box, minus 20 for each hit on the hostage. Score up to 100 points.
