Minnesota and the Insurrection Act

Years ago I read a John Le Carre’ novel called The Night Manager whose main antagonist was a man called Richard Roper. Epstein strikes me as a Richard Roper type person- although an inherently evil person who needed brought down but unable to be investigated due to his ties to high placed people in multiple country’s governments.

But what I don’t understand is why didn’t someone just kill him? I mean how many of these guys would have been better off just capping or having him capped than deal with the results of Blackmail?

So, either he had no muscle or he had muscle behind these blackmail deals we don’t know about. Deadmans switch?

That’s my guess. But he did get deaded in jail so something changed.

“Cindy McCain lamented that “we all knew” about sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and his sex trafficking, but authorities “were afraid of him.”“

FYI - the 2016 miniseries was very good. They just released a follow-up series this year on Prime.

Made me remember this old one.

I remember when it came out but never watched it due to not having cable. If the series is half as good as the book then it should be excellent.

Well we all knew John too, and I still lament that if 9/11 wouldn’t have happened he would have been recalled and run out of Arizona on a rail…
