Whats the deal with the new ranch models? Would you take this over a Saiga AK 47? Last newb question for awhile.
Thanks!

Hey There,
I have never seen a Mini 30 make it through a high volume rifle course (and I have seen several fail spectacularly). Magazines are an issue. The ability to shoot hard primer steel case ammo reliably is an issue. Unless you are in a state that outlaws “assault rifles” I would pass. Mini 14s generally run fine. Mini 30’s don’t. My opinion is you would be much better off with almost any ak variant. Mini 30 is not for serious use.
Absolutely. You’re much better off with an AK variant.
Although, Ruger has recently released 20 round magazines for the Mini 30, AK magazines are much more readily available and are much less expensive.
Go with a Saiga, leave the Mini well alone.
